This very special Thoroughbred mare and foal — Constellation and Shootingstar — were sculpted by the incredibly talented Bravedog Customs as exclusive prizes for MHL 2025 in Munich, Germany. Only 20 sets were produced in stablemate scale (plus 20 micro scale copies), all 3D printed — and that’s the entire edition.
As one of the lucky recipients of three pairs, I’ve chosen to keep one in my personal collection forever. But the second set… I’ve decided to share. It’s rare for me to part with something so personal, but I believe certain pieces are meant to travel and inspire beyond my studio walls.
About the Painting
The mare, Constellation, is painted in a delicate flea-bitten grey over a chestnut base. I used my signature hair-by-hair technique to create a soft and luminous coat — full of pale shades: ivory, warm beige, cool grey, and even subtle blush tones. Her fiery red mane and tail, streaked with grey, give her quiet strength and contrast — she feels both ethereal and grounded.
The foal, Shootingstar, brings warmth and playfulness. He’s painted in a rich, saturated chestnut — a favorite color of mine, especially when paired with a light grey mare. His look is completed by a lace-like Appaloosa blanket across his hindquarters, adding both texture and personality. Even the tiniest details — like the fine hairs inside his ears — are painted by hand with care.
Together, they feel like a story — of softness, contrast, and deep connection.
