Introducing “Magnum” Customization and original paintwork of the magnificent “Magnum” sculpture by Katya Elp.
“Magnum” is an exceptionally dynamic Akhal-Teke stallion — a breathtaking embodiment of the breed’s ancient grace and fiery spirit. Katya captured the essence of the Akhal-Teke with masterful precision: refined and elegant, yet full of power, exactly as a true stallion should be.
And yes — he’s huge! His scale is Large Traditional (1:8), so don’t underestimate his size — make sure there’s a special place waiting for him on your shelf!
This edition is strictly limited to only 45 copies. And just to note — all modifications to his appearance were fully approved by the original sculptor.
In my hands, Magnum has taken on a completely unique personality. He’s now a bold, rebellious guy who looks like he might just bite you any second! I spent several days refining every detail of his expression — every wrinkle, tooth, tongue, and even the new ear position received my full attention and skill.
I also decided to give him a real mohair mane and tail, to bring his image to life as realistically as possible: the typical short, clipped Akhal-Teke mane and a dynamic tail, lightly styled with fixative spray (though you can easily restyle it yourself!). And since I used natural gray and white mohair, you don’t need to worry about fading — unlike dyed fibers, it will keep its color beautifully over time.
As for the paintwork — I chose a light dapple fleabitten gray coat. As always, the entire piece is painted completely by hand in my signature hair-by-hair technique. Painting such a large model took a lot of time, but I couldn’t be happier with the result. Delicate layers of white, pink, beige, deep blacks, and subtle browns give him incredible depth and realism. The countless fine hair details, directional hair growth, brown freckles, and carefully painted dapples all come together to create a rich, dynamic, and truly striking look. The finely painted facial markings, toothy grin, and deep brown eyes perfectly complement his overall expression.
And to crown it all — Magnum is already a Champion! Just one day after completion, he made his debut at the 32nd Live Show in Berlin — and his first appearance was a triumph:
• Overall Champion of the 32nd “Live Show Berlin” • Overall Champion Halter • 1st Place Halter Resin • Overall Champion Workmanship • 1st Place Workmanship (Gray coats subclass)
The model is located in Berlin, Germany, and can be shipped worldwide.
Shipping to the USA is possible, but current postal regulations require:
