Everything gets better when you add a bit of cat!
I present to you the first Berendey in my painting and his little companion! Yes, this couple is completely inseparable and they are sold only together!
For Berendey, I chose a bright appaloosa coat with a classic blanket pattern. The contrasting spots on his hindquarters perfectly emphasize the direction of hair growth. And his sweet face has a badger face marking. Overall, the name Badger just stuck with him while I was working on him.
Each hair on his body is painted by hand using the hair by hair technique. The variations of white, brown, and black have many shades and gradations of transparency. I also added a little bit of glitter to his mane and tail for sparkle. His eyes, nostrils, and hooves are covered with glossy varnish.
I chose a cat with the same bright and contrasting color combination as Berendey. His black and white color with green eyes complements Berendey's coat perfectly. He turned out to be that cozy cat that you can find in every stable. Oh yes! He also has pink paw pads!
The cat is a 3D print in a traditional size done by my friend - "Annicha-prints"
An additional advantage: the cat sculpture has a slight bend at the base, so it sits perfectly on the back of any horse and doesn't fall off. I personally tested this on the models I had at hand. So you can use it not only in partnership with Berendey but also with other models in your collection.
